CCTNS Functional & Technical SpecificationsThe proposed solution should support following management parameters:i. Processors: Each processor in the system should be monitored for CPUutilization. It should compare Current utilization against user specified warningand critical thresholds.ii. File Systems: Each file system should be monitored for the amount of filesystem space used, which should be compared to user-defined warning andcritical thresholds.iii. Log Files: Logs should be monitored to detect faults in the operating system, thecommunication subsystem, and in applications. System agents should alsoanalyze log files residing on the host for specified string patterns.iv. System Processes: System agents should provide real-time collection of datafrom all system processes. Using this it should help identify whether or not animportant process has stopped unexpectedly.v. Memory: System agents should monitor memory utilization and available swapspace and should raise an alarm in event of threshold violation. The proposed database performance management system shall integrate network andserver performance management systems and provide the unified view of theperformance state in a single console. It should be able to automate monitoring, datacollection and analysis of performance from single point. It should also provide the ability to set thresholds and send notifications when anevent occurs, enabling database administrators (DBAs) to quickly trace and resolveperformance-related bottlenecks. The proposed management system must send alertsfor an array of server conditions, including inadequate free space, runaway processes, high CPU utilization and inadequate swap space.ii)Application Performance Management System & End-User Monitoring SystemThe proposed solution must determine if the root cause of performance issues isinside the monitored application, in connected back-end systems or at the networklayer from a single console viewThe proposed solution must proactively monitor 100% of real user transactions; detectfailed transactions; gather evidence necessary for triage and diagnosis of problemsthat affect user experiences and prevent completion of critical business processesAssam Police Page 140
