2011 – 2012 PROGRAMS AND DEGREESANTHROPOLOGYPrograms Offered• Minor in AnthropologyAnthropologists stress the holistic relationship between humansand their environment using culture as the organizing theme.As such anthropologists study human biological originsand adaptations, as well as cultural adaptations. Althoughanthropology had its roots in studying hunting and gatheringsocieties and agrarian ones, today anthropologists studymodern industrial societies. Because of the ecological, holisticapproaches anthropology provides a solid basis to understandthe difficult choices facing modern humans, like overpopulation,dwindling resources, and environmental degradation andpollution. By using the knowledge and perspectives gained frommany cultures, anthropology is in a position to offer great insightinto solutions for the future.
