2011 – 2012Policies and RegulationsF. It is the responsibility of the individual or group postingmaterials to ensure that all postings have been removedwithin two working days following the event or date on theposting.G. Students or student clubs and organizations that violate thispolicy may have posting privileges revoked for a specifiedperiod of time. Unauthorized postings of a threatening,discriminatory or offensive manner may result in disciplinaryaction.External Constituencies:A. Written materials identified by authorship and sponsorshipmay be sold or distributed on campus within the guidelinesof propriety and responsible journalism as established andsupervised by the Vice President for Student Affairs or his/her designee. The distribution of such materials by externalconstituencies, as approved by the Vice President for StudentAffairs or his/her designee, is permitted provided steps havebeen taken to preserve the orderliness of the campus.B. Time, place and manner may be determined for distributionand may require the sponsorship of a student club ororganization or University department.C. Non-University or off-campus printed materials shall notbe distributed or circulated within buildings of the campuscommunity by external constituencies without first beingapproved by the Vice President for Student Affairs or his/herdesignee.D. Requests for posting flyers, leaflets, brochures orother materials within campus buildings from externalconstituencies must first be approved by the Vice Presidentfor Student Affairs or his/her designee.E. External constituencies should in no way tack, stick, glue,paste, pin, staple, or otherwise affix any materials on anydoor, wall, window, lobby, or other surface on campus.F. Unapproved postings or postings in unauthorized locationswithin the campus buildings will be removed. The Bell Towerfront lobby, the blue textured wall in the lobby of Aliso Halland all public doors (exteriors, classrooms, restrooms andoffice suite doors) have been designated as non-postingareas.G. Staff and faculty should not affix materials in a way thatwill cause damage to the location where they are posted.Acceptable methods of posting materials include the use ofposter putty or painters masking tape.D. It is the responsibility of the individual or group postingmaterials to remove them within two working days followingthe event or date on the posting.E. Unapproved postings or postings in unauthorized locationswithin the campus buildings will be removed. The Bell Towerfront lobby, the blue textured wall in the lobby of Aliso Halland all public doors (exteriors, classrooms, restrooms andoffice suite doors) have been designated as non-postingareas.(SA.07.009)Sexual Harassment forStudents, Prohibition ofAccountabilityThis policy is administered through the Judicial Affairs Officer.Questions, concerns, suggestions, or complaints should bedirected to Judicial Affairs. The Judicial Affairs Officer isresponsible for assisting students regarding alleged sexualharassment and resolving situations in which sexual harassmentoccurs or is perceived as occurring; educating CI studentsregarding the issue of sexual harassment and developingstrategies for its elimination; and conducting investigations andresponding to allegations of sexual harassment made againststudents of CI. These responses may include an appropriateaction to remedy the complainant’s loss, if any.ApplicabilityThis policy applies to all students including student applicantsas it relates to all University programs and services. Employeesshould refer to the California State University System-wide Policy.TextCI will not tolerate sexually harassing conduct within itscommunity and will take all reasonable steps to prevent andeliminate sexual harassment. Sexual harassment is conductsubject to disciplinary action, including expulsion. Sexualharassment may also result in legal action against the individualand university. Sexual harassment includes but is not limited to:• Unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, andother verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature;• Conduct of a sexual nature that is unwelcome andcontributes to a learning environment that is hostile,intimidating, offensive, or adverse to persons;• Conditioning an academic act, decision, evaluation, orrecommendation on the submission to or tolerance of anyact of a sexual nature.In determining whether conduct constitutes sexual harassment, allof the circumstances surrounding the conduct are considered.The prohibition against sexual harassment applies to all Universityrelated activities, whether on or off campus.CI will not tolerate any retaliatory action or other reprisals againstthose persons who: (a) oppose practices prohibited by thispolicy; (b) file complaints of sexual harassment; or (c) assist withor participate in a sexual harassment investigation, proceeding,or hearing conducted by CI or any local, state, or federalagency. Individuals are encouraged to report any conductthat might constitute sexual harassment to any Student AffairsAdministrator or to Human Resources Programs.* The parameters of ‘sexual harassment’ are defined by Stateand Federal statutes and Court decisions.
