In thiscourse we will read plays written byNative Americans, Hispanic Americans,Asian Americans, African Americansand others. This course is regional inorganization rather than chronological,and is organized around one or morethemes.Same as ENGL 333GenEd: C2, C3B, InterdisciplinaryPATH 334 SPANISH LANGUAGEDRAMA AND THEATRE (3)Three hours lecture per weekRead and analyze one-act plays fromdiverse parts of the Spanish-speakingworld, and focus on majors works for indepthstudy and performance. In additionto learning about the historical, culturaland sociological context of the plays,students will learn acting techniquesand appropriate Spanish-languagevocabulary and phrases. A study of the range ofAmerican dramatic literature in the contextof the development of American theatricalperformance. Thematically examinesavant-garde and alternative forms as wellas commercial and mainstream theatre.Same as ENGL 341GenEd: C2, InterdisciplinaryPATH 342 MODERN BRITISH ANDEUROPEAN DRAMAAND THEATRE (3)Three hours lecture per weekMajor works of British and Europeandramatic literature in performance andproduction from the middle of the 19thcentury to the present.
