W.)Shell elongate, subulate, pink, with large distant white varices.Whorls 18?; the 12 remaining are convex at the sides, separated bya deepish, slightly oblique suture, longitudinally finely ribbed andspirally lirate. Ribs twice as broad as the grooves between them,about 26 on the penultimate whorl, subnodose where they meet thetransverse lira3 ; these are about 1 1 in number on the penultimateand about 24 on the last whorl, those on the lower part rather finerthan those above. Varices large, almost one on every volution,transversely sulcated. Aperture subquadrate, nearly as wide aslong. Columella straight, subtruncate and uniplicate anteriorly.Labrum arcuate, externally variced. Length of twelve remainingwhorls 18 millims., diameter 4-j- millim.Providence Reef, Mascarenes, in 24 fms.
