1. Complete training of instruction officials of the 1st level within 1 year (see<br />

Appendix I for example of training syllabus).<br />

2. Complete training of instruction officials of the 2nd level in 1 1/2 years.<br />

3. Complete training for farmer leaders in 2 years.<br />

EVALUATION<br />

It is expected that the training will contribute to increased cooperation <strong>and</strong><br />

coordination of efforts to solve problems associated with careless <strong>and</strong><br />

irresponsible use of pesticides. Further, the training will help make all the<br />

-<br />

<strong>part</strong>ies concerned - government agencies, manufacturers, <strong>and</strong> users or farmers<br />

conscious of their responsibilities <strong>and</strong> feel the need to work jointly to reduce<br />

problems associated with pesticide misuse. In addition, such training will lead<br />

to increased coordination <strong>and</strong> cooperation among the above groups in research<br />

work. It will also promote the underst<strong>and</strong>ing needed to find an effective <strong>and</strong><br />

speedy solution to the pollution problem, especially the dangers generated by the<br />

use of agropesticides in pest control.
