3.1.1 The price for using road transport infrastructure<br />
There are two basic charging systems in <strong>the</strong> EU member countries - “performance fee” or<br />
<strong>the</strong> road toll depending <strong>on</strong> <strong>the</strong> travelled distance, and “time fee” depending <strong>on</strong> <strong>the</strong> selected time<br />
period (for example week, year etc.) 7<br />
In <strong>the</strong> following text, <strong>the</strong> current rates (year 2010) in selected countries are listed for a model<br />
vehicle with <strong>the</strong> highest allowed weight of 12 t<strong>on</strong>s and more in total, having five axles and<br />
bel<strong>on</strong>ging to <strong>the</strong> EURO 5 emissi<strong>on</strong> class.<br />
3.1.1.1 The Czech Republic<br />
In <strong>the</strong> Czech Republic, 2 % of roads is a subject to charging, which equals to approximately<br />
1.300 km from <strong>the</strong> total length of 56.000 km. The charges apply to motorways, speedways and<br />
selected secti<strong>on</strong>s of 1 st class roads (see <strong>the</strong> picture below). Nei<strong>the</strong>r tunnels nor bridges are<br />
charged in <strong>the</strong> Czech Republic.<br />

and bel<strong>on</strong>ging to <strong>the</strong> EURO 5 emissi<strong>on</strong> class, valid from 1 st January 2010, according to<br />
<strong>the</strong> Government regulati<strong>on</strong> no. 484/2006 Coll. 8 :<br />
