Substrates transported here are oil, steel, coal, automobiles and lump items. The volume of<br />
goods transported by railway to <strong>the</strong> port and its surroundings reaches 4 milli<strong>on</strong> t<strong>on</strong>s per year.<br />
Products transported by waterways from <strong>the</strong> port to inland destinati<strong>on</strong>s are petroleum, supplies<br />
for factories in <strong>the</strong> Ne<strong>the</strong>rlands and o<strong>the</strong>r <strong>Europe</strong>an countries and coal. The shuttle c<strong>on</strong>tainer<br />
transport is realized several times a week between Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Antwerpen and<br />
Germany.<br />
In 2006, 85 milli<strong>on</strong> t<strong>on</strong>s of goods were reloaded in <strong>the</strong> port including bulk loose substrates (bulk<br />
agriculture products, biomass, sand, gravel, granite) and liquid commodities (oil products, bio-fuels,<br />
specific chemicals).<br />
