4.5.2.4 Zero opti<strong>on</strong> – without <strong>the</strong> Děčín navigable lock<br />

The zero opti<strong>on</strong> does not generates increase in waterway transport, with <strong>on</strong>e excepti<strong>on</strong>: in case<br />

of exceeding <strong>the</strong> capacity reserve of land transport routes in Germany (Rhein area), waterway<br />

transport can be utilized until <strong>the</strong> Dresden port with c<strong>on</strong>secutive road or railway transport to <strong>the</strong><br />

CR. With regard to quite short distance to <strong>the</strong> destinati<strong>on</strong> point (200-300 km), preference of road<br />

transport is assumed due to ec<strong>on</strong>omic reas<strong>on</strong>s, while insufficient capacity indicates preference of<br />

railway transport.<br />

C<strong>on</strong>sidering capacity reserve of <strong>the</strong> German railway network, most of <strong>the</strong> increased transport<br />

volumes would have to be absorbed by road transport. The predicti<strong>on</strong> is following:<br />
