The absence of all-year access to the North Sea by inland waterways and complete lack
of access to the Danube may cause future traffic and economic problems with fierce price
fluctuations of petroleum products and increased demand for cheap and reliable
connection of the CR and major European and world loading terminals. Therefore, it is
necessary to supervise development of waterways from the long-term strategic perspective.
