it had grown by roughly 60 percent. Rosenwald's annual contributions to <strong>the</strong><br />

National Urban League are listed on an undated sheet marked "National Urban<br />

League," Rosenwald Papers, Box 75. In 1922, Rosenwald's gift was reduced to<br />

$1,500; for <strong>the</strong> rema<strong>in</strong>der of <strong>the</strong> 1920s, it was usually $1,000. Rosenwald was <strong>the</strong><br />
