Investigators across <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> United States and some abroad have submitted <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g>ir best candidate vaccine formulati<strong>on</strong>s<br />

for standardized testing in preselected labs. Vaccine candidates include mostly attenuated M. avium<br />

subsp paratuberculosis mutants and some recombinant proteins. There will be three phases <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> testing with <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

final phase using <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> goat model. The logistics <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> this coordinated effort and early progress will be described in<br />

detail.<br />
