been introduced within the past 5–10 years to increase reliability <strong>and</strong> also to reduce<br />

membrane module fabrication <strong>and</strong> process O&M costs. As a result, the <strong>MBR</strong> process<br />

is becoming increasingly competitive, <strong>and</strong> few would predict that their increasing<br />

market penetration is likely to wane in the near future.<br />
