Genio & regolatezza
Geniuses Within Rules
Genova spesso, e forse malvolentieri,
accoglie o dà i natali a individui
assolutamente geniali. Questi esseri
originali, molto diversi fra loro ma accomunati
da una evidente capacità di fare, sono molto
utili alla città. Anzi, spesso ne promuovono
l’immagine ben oltre i confini comunali,
regionali, nazionali.
comunque.
Del resto una delle caratteristiche del genio
ligure è l’essenzialità. Un esempio? Silvio
Berlusconi fonda uno o più partiti spendendo
milioni di euro in case editrici, giornali e tv,
Beppe Grillo inventa il terzo partito
italiano con un’attività politica
praticamente a costo zero.
Anche in campo artistico i risultati
arrivano con poco: a Maurizio
Crozza per primeggiare
fulgidamente su tutta la satira
italiana, distribuendo via etere la
cara inflessione dialettale, basta
un microfono o al massimo una
parrucca. Del resto a Paganini
bastava un violino, e talvolta
addirittura una sola corda. E a
Fabrizio De Andrè? Una
semplice chitarra, nemmeno di
gran marca. Insomma, per dare
lustro a Genova i genovesi
geniali non chiedono nulla.
E, diciamocelo, anche
ringraziarli costa poco: il
Columbus Day, quello vero, se
“
In Liguria siamo
popolo di creatori. Se
non avessimo un’anima
un po’ troppo
provinciale saremmo
assai più trendy e
interessanti di Berlino
We are a people of
creators. If it weren’t for
our nature which is a bit
too provincial, we would
much more trendy than
Berlin
”
Genoa often, and perhaps in spite of itself,
welcomes or raises individuals who are
absolute geniuses. These very original
human beings – very different one from the other
but sharing a common visible ability to “do”, to get
things done, to make a difference – are very useful
for the city. To be precise, often they promote our
image well beyond city limits, beyond regional and
even national borders.
This extraordinary promotion of the image of the
city is done by Genoese geniuses free of charge. An
example? Take Christopher Columbus. Ferdinand
and Isabella gave him money, not the City of
Genoa. And yet, even though he was not dealing
with Ligurians, he did not spend all that much of it
anyway. After all, one of the characteristics of
Ligurian genius is its essentiality. An example? Take
Beppe Grillo. Silvio Berlusconi founded a new
party spending millions of euros on publishing
houses, newspapers, and TV. Grillo instead
invented a new Italian party at practically
zero cost.
Even in the artiste field, results come with
very little. All Maurizio Crozza needs, to
take top rankings in
Italian satire – his
beloved
Genoese
