geniali individui, Genova potrebbe davvero esser
superba a gratis.
Adesso
facciamola diventare ancora più bella, con
l’anima.
Gian Piero Alloisio inizia
con Genio e regolatezza la
sua rubrica "Anima Blue":
viaggio per immagini e
parole alla scoperta
dell'anima della nostra
regione
Gianpiero Alloisio begins
a new series for Blue called
Blue Soul, "Anima Blue",
with his essay, expounding
on the Ligurian soul
accent sounding across the networks on the air –
is a microphone or at most a wig. But after all, all
Paganini needed was a violin, and sometime just a
single cord. And Fabrizio De Andrè? The great
Genoese singer-songwriter used a simple guitar,
not even of a fancy brand.
So, to sum it up, to bathe Genoa in glory, Genoese
geniuses do not ask for anything. And, we must
admit, saying thank you to them also costs
nothing. Columbus Day, the real one, is celebrated
(and paid for) by the Americans. The exhibition on
De Andrè brought in more than it cost. And all the
other Genoese singer-songwriters of “The City of
Singer-Songwriters” are not taking money out of
our pockets.
If it were only for the geniuses that we have
identified, Genoa would truly be “Genoa the
Superb” [its nickname] free of charge.
Unfortunately, these excellent fellow citizens are a
minority, and, since, thanks to them, Genoa is
talked about without spending, the real money
gets spent elsewhere. There are no big initiatives
tied to Columbus, nothing to Paganini or the
singer-songwriters, nor to Genoese comics or
Genoese TV stars.
May I remind you that the most popular TV show,
which is also that of the longest duration, is
Striscia by Ligurian Antonio Ricci, and that the
Gabibbo character created by good (and Genoese)
Lorenzo Beccati is, after Topo Gigio, the most
famous puppet in Italian history. It would be easy
to say – in these times of economic crisis – that it
is a question of politics. Money is spent on
infrastructure which can guarantee votes by jobs.
But I am convinced that it is a
question of soul. Genoa cannot bear
to see its children succeed. Instead of
connecting to them, working as a team to grow,
getting out of her shell and profiting by their
contacts, the majority of her administrators prefer
to go the other way, seeking in vain to show that
nothing needs to be improved because everything
works perfectly, even when it does not.
We need to trust our soul.
We are not a population of managers, we are a
people of creators. Of all the cities of Italy, Genoa
is the one with the highest number of people who
live by using their creativity. If it weren’t for our
nature which is a bit too provincial, we would be
rather interesting, and much more trendy than
Berlin.
In recent years Genoa has become a tourist
destination probably also because on the whole, it
has become more beautiful. Now let us work at
beautifying her soul.
