Due viste rendering di come
dovrebbe trasformarsi la sealine
di Vado, nel Savonese, dove si
prevede di costruire un mega
terminal per contenitori portuali.
Poco lontano si trova il polo
Bombardier (600 addetti, di cui
70 ingegneri), produttore di
locomotori, tram, monorotaie e
people mover passato in mani
canadesi
Two renderings of how the
sealine to Vado, just outside of
Savona, is to be transformed. A
huge terminal for sea containers
is planned, built for and partially
by Danish shipping company,
Maersk. Nearby is Bombardier,
the Canadian company (with 600
workers of whom 70 are
engineers) that builds
locomotives, streetcars,
monorails, and people movers
ronautici e componenti. Nel nuovo iper tecnologico
stabilimento (investimento, 100 milioni), quasi
50mila mq di superficie coperta fronte pista, saranno
ricollocate tutte le produzioni oggi realizzate
a Finale Ligure, dove lo stabilimento era attivo
dal 1906 (con galleria del vento dal 1927). Compresa
Italiano-Brown Boveri fino agli anni Ottanta,
produce tram, monorotaie, people mover.
Italia. Dalle origini, il sito ha sfornato circa 1.800
locomotive, a partire dalle primissime E550, dette
Ferrovie.
Piero Ferrari - grandson of famous Enzo, who founded
Ferrari as a sports car maker – he is also the Vice-
President of Ferrari (cars). Ferrari lead the team in a
1998 acquisition of this glorious Genoese mechanics
and aeronautics company founded by Rinaldo Piaggio.
And so, today Piaggio is a third owned by Abu Dhabi’s
investment company, Mubadala Development
Company, and a third by Tata Limited, the British
branch of the Indian Tata Group.
Present in Naples and in the U.S, Piaggio is the only
airplane company in the world which is active both in
design and in maintenance of complete aircraft, as
well as in the construction of aeronautical engines and
components. In its new super-technological factory (a
100 million investment) almost 50,000 square meters
of roofed space will hold all the production, including
the construction of parts, for its own revolutionary
product, the P180 Avanti II jet, considered to be the
most advanced turboprop business jet on the world
market. Its final assembly line and testing will stay
however in Genoa.
And locomotives in Italy have been built near Savona
since 1905, when Westinghouse opened the factory. In
2001, it was bought by Canadian multi-national
Bombardier. It still builds locomotives of many kinds:
ones to which cars can be attached by any operator;
the fixed distributed-power convoys which are now
common on many European railways; single piece
trains which include passenger cars; and high-speed
locomotives. Meeting the challenges of the market,
Bombardier with its 600 experts, including 70
engineers, also does maintenance, and produces
streetcars, monorails, and people movers. Since its
start, approximately 1,800 locomotives have been built
here – including the early E550s in the early 1900s,
nicknamed the “Mules of the Giovi Pass”.
