Overige overwegingen<br />
In de differentiaal diagnostische overwegingen van metastastisch niercelcarcinoom versus<br />
andere laesies spelen (basale) immunologische kleuringen een belangrijke rol. Het<br />
beschikken over de histologische beelden van de primaire niercelcarcinoom is een voordeel<br />
bij het stellen van de diagnose op een eventuele metastatische laesie.<br />
Aanbevelingen<br />
Er is een voorkeur voor histologische diagnostiek bij het aantonen van metastatisch<br />
niercelcarcinoom. Bij aanwezigheid van goede cytopathologische expertise kan deze<br />
diagnose ook cytopathologisch gesteld worden.<br />
Indien voor cytologische onderzoek gekozen wordt bij de diagnostiek van metastatisch<br />
niercelcarcinoom is het belangrijk dat een afdeling pathologie beschikt over een afdoende<br />
methode om op cytologisch materiaal diverse immunologische kleuringen te verrichten;<br />
hierbij is het gebruik van ingeblokt celmateriaal met daarvan gesneden coupes voor<br />
immuunhistologie een beproefde en geschikte methode.<br />
