If they want to be warm theyshould try a shop with fur coats!Scrooge continues counting, Cratchit goes back tocustomers, Nephew enters.Nephew: Hello, Uncle! Merry Easter, I mean MerryChristmas! How is Aunt? Oh, I know howshe is, she is dead! Would you like to join usfor Christmas dinner tomorrow?Scrooge: No, I’m afraid I can’t, I must count mymoney, and I hate Christmas!Nephew: OK, suit yourself, (to audience) you oldmean bugger! (Nephew leaves).Narrator: Later, two men entered the shop (twomen enter).First man: Good afternoon, sir, and Merry Christmas!(he starts looking at the underwear in the shop).Second man: We are collecting money for thepoor and needy. Could you perhaps donatesomething?Scrooge: No! Go away and leave me alone. Whatam I, a charity?(two men leave in a hurry).Cratchit: Sir, do you think I could get a discounton this pair of knickers? (shows a pair). Say,ten per cent? I’m rather poor and I’d like tobuy a present for my wife.Scrooge: OK, five per cent, I’m not made of m o -ney!Cratchit: Thank you, sir, she will be so happy!(Cratchit and Scrooge leave the shop).Narrator: That evening Scrooge was sitting infront of his big TV when suddenly he sawa ghost in front of him. The ghost lookedlike Bob Marley who, when alive, was hisbusiness partner (Scrooge sits on the sofa, BobMarley enters).Bob Marley: Hey, man! Remember me? I can neverbe in peace now because when I lived I onlythought about money (to audience) and joints.But I’m here to help you. You have a chanceto avoid my terrible destiny. Tonight threeghosts will visit you (Marley leaves).Scrooge to audience: Gee, did you see that? AndI haven’t drunk anything all day!Narrator: Scrooge went to bed and fell asleep. Butsoon he woke up. A figure of a strange manappeared near his bed.Ghost of Christmas Past: I am the Ghost of ChristmasPast, GCP1 for short. Come on, I willshow you something.136Narrator: GCP1 showed Scrooge some scenesof Christmases from the past. In one sceneScrooge saw himself as a boy at school. Hewas reading a book. (Boy Scrooge is readinga magazine, e.g. „Tina” or another women’smag, Narrator looks at him) OK, a magazine.He was alone and lonely. All the other boyshad gone home for Christmas yet nobodyinvited him. In another scene Scrooge sawhimself as a young man with his girlfriendwhom he didn’t marry because she was poor(Girlfriend and Young Scrooge enter).Girlfriend: When are you finally going to marryme, Eb? How much do you love me?Young Scrooge: I don’t know yet, how much do youhave? Show me the bank statement. (looks atit) I’m sorry, I don’t love you enough! I can’tafford it.Narrator: Scrooge shouted:Scrooge: That’s enough!Young Scrooge: No, it isn’t! (he leaves)Narrator: Scrooge fell asleep again but aftera while, the Ghost of Christmas Present, GCP2woke him up.GCP2: Hey, wake up! (shakes him) Have a lookat this!Narrator: GCP2 took Scrooge to the house of BobCratchit and his family. It was cold in the houseand they were sitting around a small plate ofthe smallest, cheapest cookies from Biedronka.Bob’s youngest child, Tiny Tim looked weakand ill. But they were happy together.Cratchit and his family sit at a table, Tiny Tim devoursthe cookies.Cratchit: Merry Christmas! What wonderful cookies!Do you like your present, my dear? Mr.Scrooge also wishes you Merry Christmas. (toaudience) Lying on such day!Narrator: Then the third ghost appeared, the Ghostof Christmas Future – GCF. He showed Scroogesome scenes from the future. In one, peoplewere talking about Scrooge’s death, they werecelebrating it with dance and music (cheerfulmusic is played, people dance).The ghost also showed Scrooge Cratchit’s familyagain. They were very sad because Tiny Timhad died (the body is carried away). Scroogedid a lot of thinking that night. In the morninghe opened his window and asked:
