How is Aunt? Oh, I know howshe is, she is dead! Would you like to join usfor Christmas dinner tomorrow?Scrooge: No, I’m afraid I can’t, I must count mymoney, and I hate Christmas!Nephew: OK, suit yourself, (to audience) you oldmean bugger! (Nephew leaves).Narrator: Later, two men entered the shop (twomen enter).First man: Good afternoon, sir, and Merry Christmas!(he starts looking at the underwear in the shop).Second man: We are collecting money for thepoor and needy. Could you perhaps donatesomething?Scrooge: No! Go away and leave me alone. Whatam I, a charity?(two men leave in a hurry).Cratchit: Sir, do you think I could get a discounton this pair of knickers? (shows a pair). Say,ten per cent? I’m rather poor and I’d like tobuy a present for my wife.Scrooge: OK, five per cent, I’m not made of m o -ney!Cratchit: Thank you, sir, she will be so happy!(Cratchit and Scrooge leave the shop).Narrator: That evening Scrooge was sitting infront of his big TV when suddenly he sawa ghost in front of him. The ghost lookedlike Bob Marley who, when alive, was hisbusiness partner (Scrooge sits on the sofa, BobMarley enters).Bob Marley: Hey, man! Remember me? I can neverbe in peace now because when I lived I onlythought about money (to audience) and joints.But I’m here to help you. You have a chanceto avoid my terrible destiny. Tonight threeghosts will visit you (Marley leaves).Scrooge to audience: Gee, did you see that? AndI haven’t drunk anything all day!Narrator: Scrooge went to bed and fell asleep. Butsoon he woke up. A figure of a strange manappeared near his bed.Ghost of Christmas Past: I am the Ghost of ChristmasPast, GCP1 for short. Come on, I willshow you something.136Narrator: GCP1 showed Scrooge some scenesof Christmases from the past. In one sceneScrooge saw himself as a boy at school. Hewas reading a book. (Boy Scrooge is readinga magazine, e.g. „Tina” or another women’smag, Narrator looks at him) OK, a magazine.He was alone and lonely. All the other boyshad gone home for Christmas yet nobodyinvited him. In another scene Scrooge sawhimself as a young man with his girlfriendwhom he didn’t marry because she was poor(Girlfriend and Young Scrooge enter).Girlfriend: When are you finally going to marryme, Eb? How much do you love me?Young Scrooge: I don’t know yet, how much do youhave? Show me the bank statement. (looks atit) I’m sorry, I don’t love you enough! I can’tafford it.Narrator: Scrooge shouted:Scrooge: That’s enough!Young Scrooge: No, it isn’t! (he leaves)Narrator: Scrooge fell asleep again but aftera while, the Ghost of Christmas Present, GCP2woke him up.GCP2: Hey, wake up! (shakes him) Have a lookat this!Narrator: GCP2 took Scrooge to the house of BobCratchit and his family. It was cold in the houseand they were sitting around a small plate ofthe smallest, cheapest cookies from Biedronka.Bob’s youngest child, Tiny Tim looked weakand ill. But they were happy together.Cratchit and his family sit at a table, Tiny Tim devoursthe cookies.Cratchit: Merry Christmas! What wonderful cookies!Do you like your present, my dear? Mr.Scrooge also wishes you Merry Christmas. (toaudience) Lying on such day!Narrator: Then the third ghost appeared, the Ghostof Christmas Future – GCF. He showed Scroogesome scenes from the future. In one, peoplewere talking about Scrooge’s death, they werecelebrating it with dance and music (cheerfulmusic is played, people dance).The ghost also showed Scrooge Cratchit’s familyagain. They were very sad because Tiny Timhad died (the body is carried away). Scroogedid a lot of thinking that night. In the morninghe opened his window and asked:

He wishedevery body he saw Merry Christmas (Scroogewishes some people from the audience MerryChristmas), he donated money to charities(Scrooge gives some coins to a person with a cardboardsign: „I’m not hungry, I’m collecting forbeer”) and bought a huge turkey for Cratchit’sfamily (Scrooge gives the turkey to Cratchit). Hevisited his nephew and had the best Christmasdinner of his life (Scrooge hugs Nephew).The next day he went to the shop to organizea sale (Scrooge hangs out signs „Sale”). Hewaited for Cratchit (Cratchit enters).Scrooge: You are late!Cratchit: I’m so sorry! The traffic is bad today.Scrooge: In that case, I’m going to... increase yoursalary! Merry Christmas, Bob! (They hug).Narrator: From that day, Scrooge was the happiestman in the world. He gave money tothe needy, he lowered the prices in his underwearshop, he helped everyone. And peoplealways said about him:All: He knew how to celebrate Christmas! (A Christmascarol is played).Winnie the Pooh –an expedition to the North PoleCharacters: Winnie the Pooh, Christopher Robin, Student,Piglet, Rabbit, Owl, Eeyore, Kanga, Roo, TiggerChristopher: It is holiday time again! Free at last!We have time to relax, have fun, visit wonderfulplaces and discover fascinating things!For example the North Pole (Ch.R. starts packing,putting on his boots).Winnie the Pooh enters and sings song 1:Sing Ho! For the life of a bear!Sing Ho! For the life of a bear!I don’t much mind if it rains or snows,‘Cos I’ve got a lot of honey on my nice newnose!I don’t much care if it snows or thaws‘Cos I’ve got a lot of honey on my nice cleanpaws!Sing Ho! For a bearSing Ho! For a Pooh!And I’ll have a little something in an houror two!Winnie the Pooh: Good morning, ChristopherRobin.Christopher: Hello, Winnie the Pooh. Nice song.I can’t get this boot on. I keep pulling so hardthat I fall over backwards. Do you think youcould very kindly lean against me (they sitback to back, Ch.R. pulls on his boot).Student: You fall over because of the force youapply to pull on the boot and the centre ofgravity.Christopher: How do you know that?Student: I have a great physics teacher.Winnie the Pooh: So, what do we do next?Christopher: We are all going on an Expedition.Winnie the Pooh: Going on an expotition?Christopher: Expedition, silly old bear!Student (spells it out, shows a card): E-X-P-E-D-I-T-I-O-N.Winnie the Pooh: How do you know that?Student: I have a very good English teacher.Winnie the Pooh: Oh, I see. Where are we going?Christopher: We are going to discover the NorthPole!Winnie the Pooh: Oh, what is the North Pole?Christopher: It’s... it’s... just a thing you discover.Student: The North Pole is the most northernpoint on the planet Earth. It is located here(shows on the globe).Christopher: How do you know that?Student: Well, I have an excellent geographyteacher.Winnie the Pooh: I see. Are bears any good at discoveringthe North Pole?Christopher: Of course they are. And Rabbit andKanga and all of you. We will all go on thisexpedition. You’d better tell the others toget ready.Winnie the Pooh sees Rabbit: Hello, Rabbit. Getready. We are all going on an expedition.Rabbit: We are? What’s an expedition?Winnie the Pooh: Well, it’s a sort of..., a kind of...it is something that...Student: It is a long and carefully organized journey,especially to a dangerous or unfamiliar place.The first expedition to the North Pole was organizedin 1909 by Robert Edwin Peary.137
