the potential of scripted environments<br />
as they can integrate and automate several<br />
processes independently of software<br />
constrains. With leveraging open<br />
APIs and open source libraries, the processes<br />
can be tailored automated in<br />
different scales and scopes. With this<br />
integration, the BIM execution plan will<br />
store all the technical information of<br />
the façade in one single interface.<br />
An approximation of this dynamic<br />
workflow for customized façade solutions<br />
was created in the Master thesis<br />
developed at the University of Applied<br />
Sciences Detmold, Germany called<br />
“Automation of Processes in the Façade<br />
Engineering Field” (Ramírez, 2019).<br />
In this research a BIM execution plan<br />
was created and a guideline of how to<br />
work in a collaborative environment<br />
in Revit was generated (Figure 7). The<br />
new platform supports the current<br />
development stages of façade design<br />
and automates certain processes with<br />
the use of the graphical algorithm editor<br />
called Dynamo. The new platform<br />
avoids the human error and reduces<br />
time schedule.<br />
In a broader view, the BIM execution<br />
plan shows the potential of having a<br />
full facade life-cycle. At the culmination<br />
of all the BIM modeling throughout the<br />
project, the model will include operation<br />
and maintenance as well. Information<br />
