Annette Zimmer/Markus Behr/Michael Vilain: Ausbildungsangebote für den Dritten Sektor,
FJ NSB 2/2007, S. 126-133.
Accountability zunehmend an For-Profit-Organisationen gemessen.
Annette Zimmer/Markus Behr/Michael Vilain: Education for the Third Sector, FJ NSB 2/2007,
pp. 126-133.
There are more and more non-profit organizations worldwide and they see themselves confronted
with an expectation of efficiency and a variety of services to be provided. Though they are civil
society organizations, they are compared with for-profit-organizations as it comes to quality of
their services, accountability and transparency. Educational systems seem to adapt the changed
context. Pioneers in this regard are the USA. After analyzing the situation in the USA, the relevance
of the third sector in Germany as a labour market is sketched by five examples. These are models
for an education (1) with field-specific orientation in universities of applied science for welfare
work, (2) in the context of economics, (3) in connection with NPO-related scholarship and consulting,
(4) field- and milieu-specific advanced training without universities and (5) opportunities for
volunteers as peer group. Necessary are common standards of quality and a discussion for a corecurriculum.
