50 years: New Perspectives for the Next Millennium’ argues<br />

for a worldwide program of research into the geophysics,<br />

geochemistry, biology, and the dynamics of the solar-terrestrial<br />

and solar-planetary systems in 2003–2008<br />

July 17. SCAR XXVI biannual meeting in Tokyo, Japan (17–21<br />

July); the delegates are briefed about the recommendation<br />

of the XII COMNAP (Council of Managers of National Antarctic<br />

Programmes) meeting a week prior ‘to prepare for recognition<br />
