Buildings with rein<strong>for</strong>ced masonry walls <strong>and</strong> stiff diaphragms are<br />

similar to RM1 buildings, except the diaphragms consist of metal<br />

deck with concrete fill, precast concrete planks, tees, or doubletees,<br />

with or without a cast-in-place concrete topping slab, <strong>and</strong><br />

are stiff relative to the walls (see Figure 2-36). The floor <strong>and</strong> roof<br />

framing is supported on interior steel or concrete frames or interior<br />

rein<strong>for</strong>ced masonry walls.<br />
