UPS
1. VFD-UPS, old: Off-line (standby) UPS
Functional description:
In undisturbed operation, the current is
conveyed from the mains to the connected
devices (computers) by the UPS with no
voltage conversion. Parallel to this, the batteries
are charged via a rectifier. If voltage
fluctuations or power failures occur, the offline
UPS automatically switches to battery
mode, and from the energy in the batteries a
supply voltage is formed via the inverter. The
changeover to battery mode occurs within
approx. 2 – 4 ms, i.e. virtually without interruption.
Protection from:
● Power failure/mains failure
● Voltage drop/voltage dip
● Voltage surges
2. VI-UPS, old: Line-interactive UPS (off-line UPS + AVR)
Functional description:
Unlike the off-line UPS the line-interactive
UPS offers a more stable output voltage,
thanks to the additional use of an AVR unit
(automatic voltage regulator).
Protection from:
● Power failure/mains failure
● Voltage drop/voltage dip
● Voltage surges
● Undervoltage
● Overvoltage
