" " least (a pure rhyme in<br />
" Irresolution'," pronounced as a word of six<br />
1625).<br />
syllables (as in Richard the<br />
Third and in other earlier<br />
plays), rhymes with the word "on," four lines before.<br />
Two lines retain the rhythm, but do not rhyme,<br />
unless "leese" and " Businesse " form a rhyme, or<br />
"whereby" rhymes with "currently," "constantly,"<br />
"Tyranny," etc.<br />
And now follow close upon each other those<br />
sentences referring to a man who knows too little, and<br />
ought to endeavour to know " more," but who, instead<br />
of doing so, "smothers " his suspicions (and somewhat<br />
else), those sentences in which, moreover, the word<br />
" "<br />
Cause occurs.<br />
There is<br />
Nothing makes a Man Suspect much, more then<br />
to Know little : And therefore Men should remedy Suspicion,<br />
by procuring to know more, and not keep their Suspicions in<br />
Smother.<br />
And the other sentence, after it has been said that<br />
one ought to speak one's mind openly towards one's<br />
opponent,<br />
runs thus :<br />
For thereby, he shall be sure, to know more of the Truth of<br />
them, then he did before; And withall, shall make that Party,<br />
more circumspect, not to give further Cause of Suspicion.<br />
The word " more" occurs no fewer than four times<br />
in those few words, and it<br />
rhymes four times ! Let
