In French, "a Circle of Tales " is<br />

cercle d'amibuguitez " (a circle of ambiguities).<br />
In Latin, however, the words in question<br />

Quatenus vero ad Philologiam, quae in hoc Argumento, ut<br />
plurimum, versatur, nihil aliud est, quam Narratiuncularum &<br />
Observationum futilium congeries quaedam.<br />
And even those are rhymed verses :<br />

embodied in the opening sentences of the Book.<br />

between the commencement and the conclusion of<br />
