Decline in the Employment Levels: Total Employed Labour Force amounted to<br />

1,087,900 persons in April 2010, down from a peak <strong>of</strong> 1,174,500 in October 2008.<br />

Comparing the latest employment figures (April 2010) to the last time growth was<br />

recorded in employment (October 2008) it is seen that a cumulative total <strong>of</strong> 86,600 jobs<br />

were lost.<br />
