4.4 Responsibilities<br />
4.4.1 All Personnel shall:<br />
a. Know what items can be recycled and place recyclable materials in the appropriate container.<br />
b. Know what can be reused and follow the appropriate process for turning excess items in to R&U.<br />
4.4.2 Facility Managers (FMs) shall:<br />
a. Know the facilities and operations within their areas of responsibility;<br />
b. Know what types of solid waste and recyclable items are generated within those areas; and<br />
c. Designate suitable locations for recycling containers within their areas of responsibility.<br />
4.4.3 Contract Program Managers shall:<br />
a. Track the type and amount of material recycled by their contracts outside of JSC Recycling<br />
Programs; and<br />
b. Report annually to the EO in accordance with the Environmental and Energy Consuming<br />
Product Compliance Reports Data Requirements Description (DRD).<br />
4.4.4 Custodial Contract Managers shall:<br />
Track and report to the EO the amounts of waste landfilled and recycled, including mixed<br />
paper, cardboard, aluminum cans, and plastic bottles in accordance with the Environmental<br />
and Energy Consuming Product Compliance Reports DRD.<br />
4.4.5 Custodial Staff shall:<br />
Be knowledgeable about the recyclable materials generated in their assigned buildings and<br />
how to dispose and recycle each item accordingly.<br />
4.4.6 Project Managers shall:<br />
a. Evaluate and plan for the management of solid waste and recycling of construction and<br />
demolition (C&D) waste during the planning, design and implementation of all construction and<br />
modification projects.<br />
b. Strive to recycle the maximum amount possible of C&D waste In accordance with best<br />
management practices and with LEED practices.<br />
c. Provide the quantities and destinations of material recycled to the EO at the completion of each<br />
project.<br />
d. Provide the weight of material sent to the landfill at the completion of each project.<br />
4.4.7 The JSC Property Disposal Officer shall:<br />
