a. Review and approve all discharges to the sanitary sewers, other than traditional domestic
wastes;
b. Provide technical assistance and recommendations on permissible waste discharges or
treatment requirements to the sanitary sewer, as appropriate;
c. Obtain required permits or authorizations from regulatory agencies or POTW for industrial
discharges to the sanitary sewer;
d. Ensure collection and analysis of any samples required to document the nature and
concentration of pollutants as required by regulatory agencies; and
e. Develop and maintain a list of industrial discharges to the sanitary sewer based on submitted
JF1109s.
8.4 Personnel Training and Certification Requirements
No specific environmental training is required for IUs. Your organization may require training
on standard operating procedures or on the operation of equipment in order to comply with
elements of this chapter and to ensure competence or employees. The need for this type of
training and documentation of the training shall be the responsibility of the wastewatergenerating
organization.
8.5 Records and Forms
The EO shall maintain copies of all submitted JF1109 Form ―Sanitary Sewer Discharge
Approval Request,‖ sample results, and the list of industrial discharges for at least 3 years.
