(10) Street, parking lot and sidewalk wash water (without the use of chemicals or detergents);<br />

(11) Water from the routine external washing of buildings (without the use of chemicals or<br />

detergents);<br />

(12) Flows from fire fighting activities (not including training activities);<br />

(13) Uncontaminated water used for dust suppression;<br />

(14) De-chlorinated swimming pool discharges; and<br />

(15) Street wash-water.<br />

6.3.2 SWMP Elements Applicable to All Employees<br />

a. Several elements of the SWMP are implemented primarily by the EO or other specific<br />

organizations as identified in the SWMP, but JSC employees are responsible for compliance<br />

with several measures. JSC employees shall comply with the following sections of the permit<br />

and the SWMP:<br />

(1) Illicit discharge detection and elimination;<br />

(2) Construction site storm water runoff control; and<br />

(3) Pollution prevention/good housekeeping for municipal operations.<br />

6.3.3 Best Management Practices (BMPs)<br />

a. In order to ensure that no additional pollutants enter rainfall runoff, employees shall follow<br />

each BMP that is applicable to activities they perform.<br />

b. BMPs generally include good housekeeping practices to use when conducting specific<br />

activities outdoors or anywhere that rainfall may contact materials. BMPs typically describe<br />

practices or structural devices used to prevent or reduce storm water pollution. BMPs to<br />

reduce storm water pollution are found in the JSC SWMP, the JSC SWPPP, the EF SWPPP,<br />

and the EPIA SWPPP. BMPs for JSC, EF, SCTF and EPFOL include requirements for the<br />

following areas:<br />

(1) Storage and lay-down areas (for storage of raw materials, scrap materials, mockups,<br />

equipment, vehicles, etc.);<br />

(2) Hazardous material/waste storage and management areas;<br />

(3) Containments (including placement of temporary [job] fuel tanks, etc. in temporary bermed<br />

areas);<br />

(4) Aboveground storage tanks (for hazardous materials or wastes, including both permanent<br />

and temporary installations, regardless of the time period involved);<br />

(5) Fueling and fuel handling areas;<br />
