(7) Scrubber venting (including groundwater stripper)<br />
(8) Solvent using processes (includes film cleaning machines)<br />
(9) Processes using adhesives and glues<br />
(10) Ammonia venting<br />
(11) Demolition activities<br />
(12) Wood working operations (e.g., sanding, sawing)<br />
(13) Unauthorized releases with air emissions from volatile organic compounds (VOCs),<br />
ammonia, natural gas, or other regulated materials<br />
(14) Any process that uses/emits VOCs or NOx or Hazardous Air Pollutants<br />
(15) Diesel, gasoline, and E-85 dispensing stations and associated fuel storage tanks<br />
(16) Fuel Storage tanks for boilers and generators<br />
(17) Fuel transport trucks<br />
(18) Refrigeration and comfort cooling systems<br />
(19) Fire suppression systems using Halon<br />
5.3 Requirements for Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS)<br />
5.3.1 All Personnel involved in procurement, handling, reporting, or disposal of ODS<br />
or ODS-containing equipment shall:<br />
a. Reduce or eliminate the acquisition, use and emission of ODS from products and services in<br />
accordance with Chapter 11, Sustainable Acquisition requirements to meet the Federal<br />
Acquisition Regulations and the Clean Air Act.<br />
b. Substitute safe alternatives to ODS to the maximum extent practicable in subcontracts,<br />
solicitations, specifications and purchase descriptions.<br />
c. Unless a specific Waiver for Essential Uses, as referenced in <strong>JPR</strong> 1700.1 Chapter 9, has<br />
been approved, procurements shall not:<br />
(1) Include any specification, standard, drawing, or other document that requires the use of an<br />
ODS in the design, manufacture, test, operation, or maintenance of any system, subsystem,<br />
item, component, or process; and<br />
(2) Include any specification, standard, drawing, or other document that establishes a<br />
requirement that can only be met by use of an ODS.<br />
