a. Assure no unauthorized release of pollutants occur from activities under their control or<br />
direction;<br />
b. Report inappropriate activities or discharges to their supervisor or the SWPPT;<br />
c. Abide by sections in the SWPPPs that are applicable to their activities; and<br />
d. Follow BMPs when conducting specific activities outdoors or anywhere that rainfall may<br />
contact materials.<br />
6.4.2 FMs shall:<br />
a. Review activities and facilities under their authorization to ensure they comply with the<br />
SWPPPs;<br />
b. Know the facilities and operations in their areas of responsibility that are, or have the<br />
potential to be, sources of pollution introduced to the storm sewer system;<br />
c. Review the applicable requirements in the SWPPP during their required periodic facility<br />
inspections in order to ensure that no pollutants enter storm water; and<br />
d. Initiate corrective action when problems or non-conformances associated with their facilities<br />
are identified or reported to them.<br />
6.4.3 DLOs shall:<br />
a. Incorporate requirements identified in the SWPPPs into all applicable activities and<br />
contracts;<br />
b. Provide representation on the SWPPT if affected by the SWPPPs to aid in the development<br />
and management of the storm water program;<br />
c. Assist in implementing corrective action when problems are identified in their organization;<br />
d. Ensure employees follow applicable requirements in the SWPPPs, including following<br />
BMPs;<br />
e. Ensure only permissible discharges to storm water occur from operations conducted by their<br />
organization and facilities;<br />
f. Ensure equipment operated by the DLO is inspected, maintained, and repaired adequately to<br />
prevent pollution of storm water;<br />
g. Include applicable storm water pollution prevention requirements in local procedures<br />
(directorate level or below, including on-site contractor specific procedures); and<br />
h. Contact the EO or the JSC Center Operations Directorate Planning and Integration Office<br />
(PIO) during the planning stages of any projects that would disturb soil of one acre or more in<br />
order to identify and comply with all the associated requirements.<br />
