over the year. On the platform front, categories such as
Malaysia’s Most Valuable Brand 2012 – TV3, Putra Brand
Awards 2012 – TV3, Kuala Lumpur Film Critic Awards
2012 – Best Cinematography- Haris Hue Abdullah for the
movie Songlap and Malaysian AIDS Council Red Ribbon
Media Award 2012 – Outstanding Achievement in
Broadcast Media Category (Primeworks for Rancangan
360) are just to mention a few.
As a caring corporation, corporate social responsibility
(CSR) initiatives have always been one of our pillars.
Our Briged Sukarelawan Media Prima-NSTP, comprising
volunteers from our employees, continues to do us
proud in providing aid to thousands of victims affected
by calamities in various humanitarian missions.
In 2012, in addition to the numerous flood relief missions,
our volunteers have also been involved in many other
CSR initiatives such as blood donation drives at Sri
Pentas in conjunction with the World Blood Donors Day
by Malaysian Red Crescent Society and medical outreach
programme “Sayangi Jantung Anda”, a project in
collaboration with Institut Jantung Negara (IJN).
In addition, MPB has recently launched Tabung Bencana
Banjir Media Prima to help those in need during the
flood season. We have also launched Tabung
Kemanusiaan Palestin during Karnival Jom Heboh in
Kuantan, Pahang.
Our efforts received due recognition when MPB received
the CSR Leadership Award at the 2012 Asia Pacific
Young Business Convention (APYBC).
Thus I am proud to be part of this exciting and vibrant
company. I am sure my fellow board members feel the
same. MPB is a rainbow of colours that is made up of
what we, Malaysians, are. We are a manifestation of a
true Malaysian brand – reflecting the spirit of 1Malaysia
in more ways than one. This is one company that truly
reflects the diversity of this nation. We all thrive for the
best, to be the best and achieving the best results; as
one, as a team, together.
I must congratulate my fellow board members,
including those in the NSTP and other subsidiary
companies, who have been instrumental in guiding
the company in this long, exciting journey. Their
guidance is much appreciated.
Most of all I would like to commend the leadership of
Dato’ Amrin Awaluddin, our Group Managing Director
(GMD) for ensuring the MPB sails through effortlessly
even in trying times. He is a man of integrity, whose
tenacity and dedication are legendary, setting an
example of what commitment is all about. I must also
congratulate the executive directors, the senior
management and all the staff for their support and
tireless dedication. These are our prized assets – they
are among the best, many of them are the cream of
the cream in the industry.
More importantly, these accomplishments were
achieved through teamwork. Together, they have
raised the bar for excellence. As a team, they will
continue to achieve better results. The Malays have a
saying, “bagai aur dengan tebing”. At MPB, they
subscribe to that proverb. They too believe in an
African proverb, “if you want to go fast, go alone, if
you want to go far, go together”.
God willing, they will go far, together, and in doing so
setting new standards for others to follow.
