Directors’ Profile<br />
DATUK AHMAD BIN ABD TALIB, JP<br />
Datuk Ahmad Bin Abd Talib, aged 62, a Malaysian, is the Executive<br />
Director, News and Editorial Operations of <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Prima</strong>. He was<br />
appointed to the Board of <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Prima</strong> on 1 July 2009 and is a member<br />
of the Risk Management Committee of <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Prima</strong>.<br />
Datuk Ahmad began his career in journalism as a reporter with the<br />
Economic Service of BERNAMA in 1972. He joined Financial Publications<br />
Sdn Bhd (a subsidiary of NSTP now known as Business Times (Malaysia)<br />
Sdn Bhd) in 1978. On 1 May 1985 he joined Berita Harian Sdn Bhd as<br />
the Economic News Editor.<br />
In 1987, Datuk Ahmad became Assistant Editor, BH before joining New<br />
Straits Times as News Editor. He rose through the ranks, becoming<br />
Chief News Editor, Associate Editor and Assistant Group Editor between<br />
1991 and 1996.<br />
Datuk Ahmad was made Group Editor, New Straits Times in 1998. He<br />
was later re-designated as Group General Manager, Communications<br />
and Editorial Marketing in 2004. Datuk Ahmad opted for early retirement<br />
from the NSTP Group in 2005 before rejoining again in 2009.<br />
Datuk Ahmad is currently a trustee for Yayasan Salam Malaysia and<br />
Yayasan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim Malaysia. He is also the Chairman<br />
of the Publicity Committee of the Malaysian Red Crescent. Within the<br />
<strong>Media</strong> <strong>Prima</strong> Group, he is on the Board of STMB and NSTP.<br />
Datuk Ahmad was awarded The Knight-Bagehot Fellowship in<br />
Economics and Business Journalism, Columbia University, New York in<br />
1989/1990. He also participated in the NSK-CAJ Fellowship Programme,<br />
Japanese Newspaper Publishers and Editors Association.<br />
Other than as disclosed, he does not have any family relationship with<br />
any Directors and/or major shareholders of <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Prima</strong>. He has no<br />
personal interest in any business arrangements involving <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Prima</strong>.<br />
He has had no convictions for any offences within the past ten years.<br />
DATO’ FATEH ISKANDAR BIN<br />
TAN SRI DATO’ MOHAMED MANSOR<br />
Dato’ Fateh Iskandar Bin Tan Sri Dato’ Mohamed Mansor, aged 45, a<br />
Malaysian, is the Senior Independent Non-Executive Director of <strong>Media</strong><br />
<strong>Prima</strong>. He was appointed to the Board of <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Prima</strong> on 4 September<br />
2009, and is the Chairman of the Nomination Committee, Remuneration<br />
Committee and Risk Management Committee of <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Prima</strong>.<br />
Dato’ Fateh Iskandar attended the Malay College Kuala Kangsar (MCKK)<br />
and later obtained his law degree from the University of Queensland,<br />
Australia and subsequently went on to obtain his Masters in Business<br />
Administration.<br />
He practiced law in Australia before coming back to Malaysia joining<br />
Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor <strong>Berhad</strong> (KPS) as its Corporate Manager.<br />
He left KPS to join Glomac in 1992 as General Manager for Business<br />
Development and climbed the way up the corporate ladder. In February<br />
1997, he was appointed to the Board of Glomac <strong>Berhad</strong>. He is currently<br />
the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Glomac <strong>Berhad</strong>, a<br />
main board property company listed on Bursa Malaysia since June 2000.<br />
Apart from sitting on several private limited companies, Dato’ Fateh<br />
Iskandar sits on the Board of Axis-Reits Managers <strong>Berhad</strong>, the first REITs<br />
company to be listed on Bursa Malaysia. Within the <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Prima</strong> Group,<br />
he sits on the Board of NSTP.<br />
He is currently the Deputy President of The Real Estate and Housing<br />
Developer’s Association (REHDA) Malaysia and Immediate Past Chairman<br />
of REHDA Selangor Branch. He is also a Director of MPI (Malaysian<br />
Property Incorporated), a partnership between the Government and the<br />
private sector that was established to promote property investments and<br />
ownership to foreigners all around the world. He is the Deputy Chairman<br />
of the Malaysian Australian Business Council (MABC), Chairman of Gagasan<br />
Badan Ekonomi Melayu, Selangor Branch (GABEM) a body that promotes<br />
entrepreneurship amongst Malays in the country. He is the Co-Chair of the<br />
Special Taskforce to Facilitate Business Group (PEMUDAH) on Legal and<br />
Services and is also a Member of PEMUDAH Selangor Group.<br />
With around 20 years of experience and involvement in the property<br />
development industry, his vast experience and expertise has made him a<br />
very well-known and respected figure among his peers locally as well as<br />
on the international arena. He is frequently invited as a guest speaker in<br />
forums, seminars and conventions to offer his insights and views and to<br />
share his wealth of experiences and has given talks both locally and<br />
internationally on the property market in Malaysia over the years.<br />
