DATUK JOHAN BIN JAAFFAR<br />
Datuk Johan Bin Jaaffar, aged 60, a Malaysian, is the Independent Non-<br />
Executive Chairman of <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Prima</strong> <strong>Berhad</strong> (“<strong>Media</strong> <strong>Prima</strong>”). He was<br />
appointed to the Board of <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Prima</strong> on 30 April 2009.<br />
Datuk Johan is also Chairman of the following subsidiaries within <strong>Media</strong><br />
<strong>Prima</strong> Group, namely Sistem Televisyen Malaysia <strong>Berhad</strong> (“STMB”),<br />
Synchrosound Studio Sdn Bhd (“Synchrosound Studio”), one FM Radio<br />
Sdn Bhd (“One FM”), Primeworks Studios Sdn Bhd (“PWS”), Big Tree<br />
Outdoor Sdn Bhd (“BTO”) and Alt <strong>Media</strong> Sdn Bhd.<br />
Datuk Johan is a member of MERCY Malaysia Board of Trustees and<br />
is Chairman of the Consultation and Corruption Prevention Panel<br />
(which is under the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC). In<br />
addition, he is a member of the National Information Technology<br />
Council (NITC) and sits in the Board of Akademi Seni Budaya and<br />
Warisan Kebangsaan (ASWARA). He is also the Chairman of Sekolah<br />
Sri Nobel, a private school.<br />
Previously, Datuk Johan was the Chairman of the Board of Dewan<br />
Bahasa dan Pustaka (“DBP”) from 2006 until 2010. Datuk Johan started<br />
his career with DBP in 1977. In 1998, he was appointed as the Chief<br />
Editor of the DBP’s magazine division. His last position in DBP was<br />
Head of General Publishing Department before he joined Utusan Melayu<br />
(M) <strong>Berhad</strong> as Group Chief Editor in November 1992 until July 1998. In<br />
1995, he was also appointed as one of the members of Malaysian<br />
Business Council. When the government mooted the idea of the<br />
Multimedia Super Corridor, Datuk Johan was appointed to the Board of<br />
the Multimedia Development Council (MDC). He has also served as an<br />
Independent Non-Executive Director of Sindora <strong>Berhad</strong>.<br />
In the past, Datuk Johan served as committee member of Yayasan<br />
Anak-anak Yatim Malaysia, member of Jawatankuasa Diplomasi dan<br />
Hubungan Antarabangsa, member of Majlis Perpaduan Negara and<br />
member of the National Brains Trusts on National Education which is<br />
under the auspices of ISIS and the National Economic Action<br />
Committee (NEAC).<br />
He is currently a columnist for the New Straits Times and BH.<br />
Other than as disclosed, he does not have any family relationship with<br />
any Directors and/or major shareholders of <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Prima</strong>. He has no<br />
personal interest in any business arrangements involving <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Prima</strong>.<br />
He has had no convictions for any offences within the past ten years.<br />
DATO’ AMRIN BIN AWALUDDIN<br />
Dato’ Amrin Bin Awaluddin, aged 47, a Malaysian, is the Group<br />
Managing Director of <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Prima</strong>. He was appointed to the Board of<br />
<strong>Media</strong> <strong>Prima</strong> on 1 September 2009.<br />
He held various positions within the Group prior to assuming his<br />
current position on 1 September 2009 and holds a Bachelor of Business<br />
Administration (Honours) from Acadia University, Canada and Master of<br />
Business Administration (Finance) with Distinction from University of<br />
Hull, England.<br />
He joined the Group as the Chief Financial Officer of Sistem Televisyen<br />
Malaysia <strong>Berhad</strong> (“TV3”) in November 2001 with responsibilities, which<br />
include amongst others, to implement the restructuring and turnaround<br />
of TV3 and The New Straits Times Press (Malaysia) <strong>Berhad</strong> (“NSTP”).<br />
Completion of the restructuring of these former media assets of<br />
Malaysian Resources Corporation <strong>Berhad</strong> (“MRCB”) in September 2003<br />
led to the incorporation of <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Prima</strong> and his appointment as its<br />
Group Chief Financial Officer. Dato’ Amrin played a pivotal role in<br />
transforming <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Prima</strong> into an integrated media group. He was<br />
involved in the acquisitions and restructurings of 8TV in 2003, ntv7,<br />
TV9, Hot FM and Fly FM in 2005 which contributed to the consolidation<br />
of the domestic TV industry and <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Prima</strong>’s maiden expansion into<br />
radio. He led the successful acquisition of Big Tree Outdoor Sdn Bhd<br />
(BTO) in 2006 and the delisting of NSTP in 2010.<br />
During his tenure as the Chief Executive Officer of ntv7 (January 2006<br />
– March 2008), Dato’ Amrin led a team which formulated and<br />
implemented the financial and operational turnaround of the network,<br />
and the repositioning of the ntv7 brand.<br />
Dato’ Amrin sits on the Board of <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Prima</strong>’s subsidiaries which are<br />
NSTP, TV3, Synchrosound Studio, BTO, Primeworks Studios and Alt<br />
<strong>Media</strong> Sdn Bhd.<br />
He is the Deputy President of Kuala Lumpur Business Club (KLBC), a<br />
Member of the Asian Television Awards Advisory Board, a Board<br />
Advisor of Pusat Sains Negara and a Board Member of Yayasan<br />
Kelana Ehsan.<br />
Prior to joining the Group, Dato’ Amrin was with Amanah Merchant<br />
Bank <strong>Berhad</strong>, Renong <strong>Berhad</strong>, Malaysia Resources Corporation <strong>Berhad</strong><br />
and Putera Capital <strong>Berhad</strong>.<br />
