Directors’ Profile<br />

TAN SRI LEE LAM THYE<br />

Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye, aged 67, a Malaysian, is a Non-Independent<br />

Non-Executive Director of <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Prima</strong>. He was appointed to the Board<br />

of <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Prima</strong> on 18 August 2003, and is a Member of the Nomination<br />

Committee, Audit Committee and Remuneration Committee.<br />

Before retiring from politics in 1990, Tan Sri Lee served as the State<br />

Legislative Assemblyman for Bukit Nenas, Selangor, from 1969 to 1974<br />

and from 1974 to 1990 as the Member of Parliament for Kuala Lumpur<br />

Bandar/Bukit Bintang.<br />

He currently serves as the Chairman of the National Institute of<br />

Occupational Safety and Health under the Ministry of Human Resources.<br />

He is also the Chairman of the S P Setia Foundation and Vice-Chairman<br />

of the Malaysia Crime Prevention Foundation. Previously he served as<br />

a Member of the Special Royal Commission, which had been set up to<br />

enhance the operations and management of the Royal Malaysian Police.<br />

He was also Chairman of the National Service Training Council and a<br />

former Member of the Malaysian Human Rights Commission.<br />

In the private sector, Tan Sri Lee serves as a Non-Executive Director<br />

to a few companies, namely AMDB <strong>Berhad</strong>, MBM Resources <strong>Berhad</strong><br />

and S P Setia <strong>Berhad</strong>. Within the <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Prima</strong> Group, he is a Board<br />

member of STMB and Synchrosound Studio. Tan Sri Lee is also a<br />

Professional Representative on the Board of Employees Provident<br />

Fund since 1 June 2009.<br />

Tan Sri Lee completed his secondary education at Saint Michael’s<br />

Institution, Ipoh, Perak, and obtained his Senior Cambridge Certificate<br />

in 1965.<br />

Other than as disclosed, he does not have any family relationship with<br />

any Directors and/or major shareholders of <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Prima</strong>. He has no<br />

personal interest in any business arrangements involving <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Prima</strong>.<br />

He has had no convictions for any offences within the past ten years.<br />

TAN SRI DATO’ SERI MOHAMED JAWHAR<br />

Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Mohamed Jawhar, aged 69, a Malaysian, is an<br />

Independent Non-Executive Director of <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Prima</strong>. He was<br />

appointed to the Board of <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Prima</strong> on 30 August 2006. He is<br />

also a member of the Audit Committee, Nomination Committee and<br />

Risk Management Committee.<br />

His other positions include and has included: Chairman, Institute of<br />

Strategic and International Studies (ISIS) Malaysia; Member, Securities<br />

Commission Malaysia; Member, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission<br />

Advisory Panel; Distinguished Fellow, Institute of Diplomacy and<br />

Foreign Relations (IDFR), Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia;<br />

Distinguished Fellow, Malaysian Institute of Defence and Security<br />

(MiDAS); Board Member, International Institute Of Advanced Islamic<br />

Studies (IAIS) Malaysia; Member, National Unity Advisory Panel,<br />

Malaysia (2004-2009); Chairman, Malaysian National Committee, Pacific<br />

Economic Cooperation Council (2005-2009); Co-Chair, Network of East<br />

Asia Think-tanks (NEAT) (2005-2006); Co-Chair, Council for Security<br />

Cooperation in the Asia Pacific (CSCAO) (2006-2008); and Expert and<br />

Eminent Person, ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF). Tan Sri Jawhar also<br />

holds directorships in Ekuiti Nasional <strong>Berhad</strong> (Ekuinas), Affin Bank and<br />

Affin Islamic Bank. Within the <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Prima</strong> Group, he is Chairman of<br />

NSTP and Board Member of STMB.<br />

He served with the government for over 20 years before joining ISIS<br />

Malaysia as Deputy Director-General in 1990. He was appointed as<br />

Director-General in March 1997 and later as Chairman and CEO in 2006.<br />

Although no longer CEO of ISIS since January 2010, he still serves as<br />

its Chairman.<br />

During his government service, his positions included Director-General,<br />

Department of National Unity; Under-Secretary, Ministry of Home<br />

Affairs; Director (Analysis) Research Division Prime Minister’s<br />

Department; and Principal Assistant Secretary, National Security Council.<br />

He has also served as Counselor in the Malaysian Embassies in<br />

Indonesia and Thailand.<br />

He holds a BA Hons. from University Malaya.<br />

Other than disclosed, he does not have any family relationship with any<br />

Directors and/or major shareholders of <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Prima</strong>. He has no<br />

personal interest in any business arrangements involving <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Prima</strong>.<br />

He has had no convictions for any offences within the past ten years.<br />
