Intangible assets with indefinite useful lives are tested for impairment on an annual basis. Included in intangible<br />

assets are acquired rights which have indefinite useful lives, totalling RM200.4 million (2011: RM200.4 million;<br />

1.1.2011: RM200.4 million). These assets are deemed to have indefinite useful lives as they are renewable with<br />

minimum cost to the Group and there is no foreseeable limit to the period over which the assets are expected to<br />

generate net cash inflows for the Group. Based on the test performed as described below, the Directors concluded<br />

that the recoverable amount, calculated based on value-in-use, is higher than the carrying amount.<br />

Impairment tests for intangible assets with indefinite useful life<br />

The carrying amounts of intangible assets allocated to the Group’s cash-generating units (“CGUs”) are as follows:<br />

No impairment loss was required for the carrying amounts of the intangible assets above assessed as at 31<br />

December <strong>2012</strong> as their recoverable amounts were in excess of their carrying amounts.
