TN reply to the question put by the Select<br />

Committee as to the practicability of send<strong>in</strong>g<br />

these negroes back to their own country,<br />

one witness declared that it was impossible, but<br />

I differ entirely with him on that head—it is<br />

by no means impossible ; and every slave so<br />

liberated and returned to his own country by us<br />

would strike a " heavier blow " to the slave-trade<br />

than ever yet has been dealt aga<strong>in</strong>st it.<br />

I propose,<br />

presently, to show how this may be done.<br />
