Mozambique, where they were probably more<br />

practised surgeons than at Mafamale.<br />

On the 27th December he was placed <strong>in</strong> the<br />

p<strong>in</strong>nace for conveyance there— but a hundred<br />

miles <strong>in</strong> an open boat aga<strong>in</strong>st w<strong>in</strong>d and current<br />

is not the best remedy for a patient with the<br />

fever at its height, and we leave the reader to<br />

th<strong>in</strong>g is certa<strong>in</strong>, that, even if they were, an<br />

English subject for dissection was as rare to<br />

them as the anatomy of the can<strong>in</strong>e species was<br />
