<strong>Garden</strong> <strong>Grove</strong> Mixed Use ZonesZoning Ordinance Amendment2. A wall or fence exceeding six feet in height shall be subject to the review <strong>and</strong>approval of the hearing body, which shall consider the effect of such wall orfence on other property in the vicinity.3. Walls <strong>use</strong>d for sound attenuation purposes along arterial roadways shall beattractive <strong>and</strong> subject to approval by the hearing body.H. Residential Zone Adjacent. Any other provision of the Chapternotwithst<strong>and</strong>ing, a wall, fence, or hedge that is provided along a commonboundary line separating property <strong>use</strong>d for commercial or industrial purposesfrom an “R” zoned property or any PUD established exclusively for residential<strong>use</strong>, <strong>and</strong> that is permitted or required to maintain a height of six feet, may beextended to a height not to exceed eight feet. However, no wall, fence, or hedgeshall extend more than six feet above the highest existing grade elevation on asubject lot.I. Railroad or Flood Control Channel Adjacent. When commercial or industrialproperty has a common property line with an “R” zoned property or any PUDestablished exclusively for residential <strong>use</strong>, <strong>and</strong> that is a right-of-way for a railroador flood control channel, the hearing body may waive the requirement for a zoneseparation wall or fence.J. Setback Area. Notwithst<strong>and</strong>ing the above requirements, no fence, wall, orhedge shall be permitted within any required street-fronting setback area for anycommercial or residential/commercial <strong>mixed</strong> <strong>use</strong> <strong>development</strong>, with the exceptionof any fence or wall required for any outdoor dining area.SECTION 9.18.130.020: Fences at Public Utility Installations, Schools, <strong>and</strong>Public Playgrounds. The provisions of this Section shall not apply to fencesrequired by the state to surround <strong>and</strong> enclose public utility installations, or to chainlink fences enclosing school grounds <strong>and</strong> public playgrounds.Section 9.18.130: Walls, Fences, <strong>and</strong> Hedges 115
