4. Pedestrian Walkways within Parking Areas.<strong>Garden</strong> <strong>Grove</strong> Mixed Use ZonesZoning Ordinance Amendmenta. Where parking areas are located between public sidewalks <strong>and</strong> buildings,publicly accessible amenity areas, <strong>and</strong> similar on-site <strong>use</strong>s, pedestrianwalkways shall be located to provide the most direct access from publicsidewalks to building entrances, publicly accessible amenity areas, <strong>and</strong>similar on-site <strong>use</strong>s.b. Where pedestrian walkways pass through parking areas, they shall bedifferentiated from parking areas using raised walkways, raised curbs,enhanced paving clearly differentiated from the parking area paving,<strong>and</strong>/or l<strong>and</strong>scape buffers.c. Pedestrian walkway requirements shall apply in addition to the l<strong>and</strong>scapingst<strong>and</strong>ards of Section 9.18.120 (L<strong>and</strong>scaping) <strong>and</strong> the parking designst<strong>and</strong>ards of Section 9.18.140.070 (Parking Design St<strong>and</strong>ards).Photo 9.18-6: Example of Enhanced Pedestrian Walkway in a Parking AreaB. Pedestrian-Oriented Plazas. Pedestrian-oriented plazas, whether requiredpursuant to Sections 9.18.090.020.F (Boulevard <strong>Garden</strong> Plaza Requirement) or9.18.09.070.C (Pedestrian-oriented Plaza Requirement), or provided as anon-required on-site improvement, shall follow the following st<strong>and</strong>ards:1. Pedestrian-Oriented Plaza Design. Pedestrian-oriented plazas shall haveminimum dimensions of 10 feet in any direction.
