Do not make connections to paintedsurfaces (Eloxal, yellow chromated). Connect mounting plates toeach other, and the cabinet doors with the cabinet using contactswith large surface areas and short HF wires. An overview or all EMC measures can be seen in the followingfigure.X Fit additional RFI filters or mains filters and frequency invertersas closely as possible to each other and on a single metal plate(mounting plate).X Lay cables in the control cabinet as near as possible to the earthpotential. Cables that hang freely act as antennas.X To prevent transfer of electromagnetic energy, lay interferencesuppressedcables (e.g. the mains supply line before the filter)and signal lines as far away as possible (at least 10 cm) from HFconductingcables (e.g. mains supply cable after a filter, motorpower cable). This applies especially where cables are routed inparallel. Never use the same cable duct for interferencesuppressedand HF cables. Where crossovers are unavoidable, cables should always cross at right angles to each other.X Never lay control or signal cables in the same duct as powercables. Analog signal cables (measured, reference andcorrection values) must be screened.abI OPRG ENTERc15PESPESPEeW2 U2 V2U1 V1 W1PEPESdFigure 28:EMC-<strong>com</strong>pliant setupa Large-area connection of all metallic control panel <strong>com</strong>ponents.b Mounting surfaces of frequency inverter, RFI filter and cable screen must be free from paint.c Connect screens of cables at frequency inverter’s output with earth potential (PES) across large surface area.d Large-area cable screen contacts with motor.e Large-area earth connection of all metallic parts.33
