Installation04/07 AWB8230-1541GBIn an EMC <strong>com</strong>pliant control cabinet (metal enclosed, damped toabout 10 dB), the motor cables do not need to be screenedprovided that the frequency inverter and motor cables areseparated and partitioned from the other control system<strong>com</strong>ponents. The motor cable screening must then be connectedat the control cabinet (PES) with a large surface area connection.The control cable and signal (analog reference and measuredvalue) cable screens must be connected only at one cable end. Thescreen connection must have a large contact surface and a lowimpedance. Digital signal cable screens must be connected at bothcable ends, also with large-surface, low-resistance connections.Electrical connectionThis section describes how to connect the motor and the supplyvoltage to the power terminals, and the signal cables to thecontrol terminals and the signalling relay.j Warning!Carry out the wiring work only after the frequency inverterhas been correctly mounted and secured. Otherwise,there is a danger of electrical shock or injury.j Warning!Carry out wiring work only under zero voltage conditions.i Caution!Use only cables, residual-current circuit breakers andcontactors with a suitable rating.
