Using the DF5104/07 AWB8230-1541GBHzAPOWERALARM• start and stop the motor (S1 or S2).• reverse the direction of rotation (S2 or S1).• reset (RST) fault signals (ALARM).• control the motor speed (0 to 50 Hz, or 0 to 60 Hz forDF51-320-…) with potentiometer R1 through the analogreference value input.IPRGORUNPRGENTERSwitches and potentiometer are not included as standard with thefrequency inverter. The DF51 can supply the external reference potentiometer with avoltage of +10 V. The resistance should be between 2 kO and 10kO . The re<strong>com</strong>mended value is about 5 kO, which then appliesabout 2 mA to the supply voltage (terminal 5).Figure 54:Table 13:LEDsKeypadLED Display ExplanationPOWER Red LED is lit when the frequency inverter haspower.ALARM Red LED is lit when an alarm message is issued.RUN Green LED lit when frequency inverter operational(enable signal for clockwise/anticlockwiseoperation, terminal 1 or 2) or running.Standard operation, actuation with default settingsConnect cables as shown below.Switches S1 and S2 (digital inputs 1 to 5) should allow reliablecontacting at extra-low voltage of +24 V).h Attention!During initial operation, check the following to preventdamage to the motor:• Is the direction of rotation correct?• Does a fault (ALARM LED) occur during acceleration ordeceleration?• Is the motor speed correct?• Does any unusual motor noise or vibration occur?X Switch on the supply voltage. The POWER LED is lit.X Close switch S1 (FWD = clockwise rotation). The frequency inverter generates a clockwise rotating field and themotor, if connected normally, rotates in a clockwise direction.F 20 mLOH 521 P24PESX With potentiometer R1, you can change the frequency andtherefore the motor speed.X Open switch S1.The motor speed is reduced to zero.Figure 55:RST4K7R1S2 S1MREVActive inputs at default settingMFWDX Close switch S2 (REV = anticlockwise rotation). The frequency inverter generates an anticlockwise rotating fieldand the motor, if connected normally, rotates in an anticlockwisedirection.X With potentiometer R1, you can change the frequency andtherefore the motor speed.X Open switch S2.hhThe Reset signal (RST function) is also issued when youswitch the supply voltage off (POWER LED off).By default, digital inputs 3 and 4 are set to the fixedfrequency values 0 Hz , a section “Fixed frequencies”on page 93.The motor speed is reduced to zero.If both switches S1 and S2 are closed, the motor will not start. Themotor speed reduces to zero during operation if you close bothswitches. With the default settings (a fig. 55) you can:52
