Chapter 6Troubleshooting and Error IndicationWhen an error has occurred, the No. 1 display alternately indicates error codestogether with the current display item.This section describes how to check error codes on the display, and the actionsyou must take to remedy the problem.Input ErrorMeaning• The input value has exceeded the control range.– Platinum resistance thermometer, thermocouple input:<strong>Temperature</strong> setting lower limit –20°C to temperature setting upperlimit +20°C (temperature setting lower limit –40°F to temperaturesetting upper limit +40°F)– Non-contact input: Same as input indication range– Analog input: –5%…+105% of scaling rangeActionCheck the wiring of inputs for miswiring, loose connections, short-circuits,and the input type. If no abnormality is found in the wiring and input type,turn the power OFF then back ON again. If the display remains the same, theBulletin 900-TC32 must be repaired. If the display is restored, then a probablecause can be electrical noise affecting the control system. Check for sources ofelectrical noise.Operation at Error• After the error occurs, the error is displayed, and control outputfunctions turn OFF.• Alarm outputs function as if the upper limit value has been exceeded.6-1 Publication 900-UM003C-EN-E - January 2004
