01/02 AWB8230-1413GB Voltage/frequencycharacteristic <strong>and</strong> voltageboostVoltage/frequency characteristic <strong>and</strong> voltage boostBoostThe boost function increases the voltage of the U/f characteristic(<strong>and</strong> consequently boosting the torque) in the lower frequencyrange. Manual voltage boost raises the voltage in the frequencyrange from the starting frequency (default setting: 0.5 Hz) to halfthe base frequency (25 Hz at the default setting of 50 Hz) in everyoperating state (acceleration, static operation, deceleration),irrespective of the motor load. With automatic boost, in contrast, the voltage is boosted according to the motor load. A voltageboost may cause a fault message <strong>and</strong> trip due to the highercurrents involved.Manual voltage boost only has an effect when PNU A044contains the value 00 (default, linear U/f characteristic) or 01(quadratic U/f characteristic).U[%]100PNU A042 = 500PNU A043 = 10 %5.0 25.0 50.0Figure 105: Voltage boost characteristicsParameter settings:A041 = 00A042 = 50A043 = 10.0A044 = 00A045 = 100f [Hz]PNU Name Adjustable in RUN mode Value Function WENormalExtendedA041A241A042A242A043A243Voltage boostcharacteristicsManual boostpercentageMaximumvoltage boostat 1 % of thebase frequency– – 00 Manual voltage boost, increase always active 0001 Automatic voltage boost, increase on dem<strong>and</strong>j j 0.0 to 20 % Setting the voltage increase with manual voltage boost. 1.0j j 0.0 to 50 % Setting the frequency with the highest voltage boost as apercentage of the base frequency (PNU A003).5.0Voltage/frequency characteristicsUnder PNU A044 <strong>and</strong> A045, adjust the behaviour of the <strong>DF6</strong> tomatch its load.
