About the <strong>DF6</strong> <strong>Frequency</strong>Inverter01/02 AWB8230-1413GBIntended useThe <strong>DF6</strong> frequency inverters are not domestic appliances. They aredesigned only for industrial use as system <strong>com</strong>ponents.The <strong>DF6</strong> frequency inverters are electrical apparatus for controllingvariable speed drives with three-phase motors. They are designedfor installation in machines or for use in <strong>com</strong>bination with other<strong>com</strong>ponents within a machine or system.After installation in a machine, the frequency inverters must not betaken into operation until the associated machine has beenconfirmed to <strong>com</strong>ply with the safety requirements of MachinerySafety Directive (MSD) 89/392/EEC <strong>and</strong> meets the requirements ofEN 60204. The owner/operator of the equipment is responsible forensuring that the machine is used in <strong>com</strong>pliance with the relevantEU Directives.The CE markings on the <strong>DF6</strong> frequency inverter confirm that, whenused in a typical drive configuration, the apparatus <strong>com</strong>plies withthe European Low Voltage Directive (LVD) <strong>and</strong> the EMC Directives(Directive 73/23/EEC, as amended by 93/68/EEC <strong>and</strong> Directive 89/336/EEC, as amended by 93/68/EEC).In the described system configurations, <strong>DF6</strong> frequency invertersare suitable for use in public <strong>and</strong> non-public networks.
