14.3.4 Open brakeThe Open brake function in operation mode 41 enables the activation of a correspondingunit via the digital control output. The function uses both the control commandsvia the contact inputs and the set starting and stopping behavior for controllingthe digital output.According to the configured starting behavior, the output is switched on when themagnetizing of the motor is finished. The brake is released and the drive is accelerated.The stopping behavior of the drive depends on the configuration of the parametersOperation Mode 630. This is described in chapter "Stopping Behavior".If stopping behavior 2 or 5 with stop function is selected, the drive is controlled tozero speed and the digital output is not switched off. In the other operation modes ofthe stop behavior, the control of the brake is possible. At the start of a free coastingof the drive, the digital output is switched off.This is similar to the behavior in the case of the stopping behavior with shutdown. Thedrive is decelerated and supplied with current for the set holding time. Accordingly, theevent for intervention of the current limitation can be output via the operation modesof the digital outputs. If the function of the intelligent current limits is deactivatedwithin the sensor-less control, operation modes 16 to 19 are switched off in the sameway.14.3.6 External FanOperation mode 43 enables the control of an external fan.
