17.7.3 Encoder MonitoringFailures of the speed sensor lead to a faulty behavior of the drive, as the measuredspeed forms the foundation of the control mode. By default, the speed sensor monitoringsystem continuously monitors the speed sensor signal, the track signal and thedivision marks. If, while the frequency inverter is released, a faulty signal is recognizedfor longer than the timeout, a fault switch-off is effected. If the parameter OperationMode 760 is set to zero, the monitoring function is deactivated.Operation modeFunction0 - Off The function is deactivated2 - ErrorA fault message is displayed according to the timeoutsset.The speed sensor monitoring is to be parameterized in the sub functions according tothe application. The monitoring function becomes active with the release of the frequencyinverter and the start command. The timeout defines a monitoring time inwhich the condition for the fault switch-off must be fulfilled without interruption.
