D E P A R T M E N T O F D E F E N C ES U B P R O G R A M M E : M I L I T A R YP O L I C Y , S T R A T E G Y A N D P L A N -N I N GO v e r v i e wThe outputs <strong>of</strong> the Military Policy, Strategy and PlanningOffice (MPSPO) have contributed positively <strong>to</strong> the achievemen<strong>to</strong>f the C SANDF strategic planning objectives and targetsin compliance with the government timelines and thegoals <strong>of</strong> the DOD.During the period under review, the MPSPO <strong>to</strong>ok the lead atdefining the SANDF Readiness Index Model UserRequirement and has developed the preliminary ReadinessIndex Strategy. The results <strong>of</strong> the Readiness Index Model willbe used for the Balanced Scorecard Measures. The Officealso developed the SANDF Strategic Plan in accordance withthe guidelines from National Treasury and identified theStrategic Outcomes and Outputs, which the SANDF willendeavour <strong>to</strong> achieve over the MTEF 2011/12 <strong>to</strong> 15/16 period.These have also been incorporated in<strong>to</strong> the SANDFAnnual Performance Plan FY2011/12.The Office completed and delivered the EnvironmentalAnalysis <strong>of</strong> the DOD for the period FY2012/13 <strong>to</strong>FY2014/15 as an input <strong>to</strong> the strategic planning process <strong>of</strong>the DOD.
